Taylor Swift in Atlanta last night. “Peace up A-town” and pit pictures!

Last night I went to the Taylor Swift concert in Atlanta. Let’s get something out of the way first. A straight guy voluntarily going to Taylor Swift? What is the world coming to, right? If this was one of your first thoughts, screw you. I’m going to go see whoever the hell I want and I’m not going to give it a second thought. Just wanted to address you haters. But onto much more important things…last night was…adorable/humbling/exciting/perfect. I’m so glad there’s someone like Taylor Swift in the entertainment industry because there really is no one like her (and there needs to have been for a while now). Here’s why:

picture-10She’s all about her fans. Being a crazed fan for just about anyone I talk about on this site, it’s always great to hear artists being thankful for their fans. Taylor Swift took it a step further. Besides constantly thanking her fans and telling them she loves them, Taylor Swift did something I’ve never seen done at a concert (and I’ve been to a lot of concerts). You’re going to think I’m lying, but I’m not. So after Taylor finishes one set, she reappears, but this time in the middle of the audience (the section directly opposite the stage). She performs a song and when she finishes, she makes her way down to another stage while hugging and high-fiving as many fans as possible. She was literally walking down to the floor trying to give back the love to every single person she came across. Have you ever seen anything like that?! It was the single most humbling thing I’ve ever seen at a concert and it made me love this girl even more. She made the days of so many fans. Think about getting to hold your favorite artist’s hand (let alone a hug). She then sang on a mini stage in the middle of the floor (similar to Beyonce’s “I Am…” tour setup). When she finished there, she made her way back to the main stage (and back to me finally, lol). Of course she didn’t do this without stopping to hug and touch more fans along the way. I have to say this because I want everyone to know what this looked like: it wasn’t like a fan here or there…it was basically anyone who was in her path. Talk about fan interaction. So great. So great.

picture-12Other quick adorable moments: Fans screaming as loud as they possibly could for as long as they possible could to which Taylor responded with complete awe (Taylor: “You have no idea what it means to me that you just did that for me”) Holding hands with 5 girls in the front row while her head was down. Putting her head-piece on a little girl (in her dad’s arms) in the front row. Kissing little kids on their cheeks throughout the concert. And possibly the most adorable moment (if that’s possible for someone like Taylor Swift) was when she was on the second stage and she said, “This is my first time headlining and I’ve always wanted to do that (referring to walking through the fans etc). I’ve also always wanted to do this…Peace up A-town!!” It was so cute.

Taylor also started the show by saying, “In my mind I have a small list of my favorite cities. Cities that I can’t wait to come back to and…Atlanta is one of them!” Not sure if she says that at every show, but it’s still sweet no? lol.

As for the concert: You know, a lot of people told told me that Taylor Swift is not good in concert…but last night definitely proved otherwise. Yes, it’s a little different from the studio (these days, who isn’t?), but it was still very great! She sang every song that I knew, but the favorites were “White Horse,” “Fearless,” “Hey Stephen,” and “You’re Not Sorry” (she mixed in a bit of Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around Comes Around” which was awesome…”Boy you got what you deserved.”) Oh and I really liked this part at the end of the show where Taylor just sang in the rain. I got some great pictures of that part so check them out if you’d like!

If boys don’t want me to write bad songs about them, then they shouldn’t do bad things.” I agree. Boys shouldn’t do bad things. Bitches.

There. That is the shortest I can make my review. I said everything I needed to say except…if you’re a fan, go see Taylor Swift. Here are my pictures:
